As the employee, I am proudly wearing this batik shirt, especially when business trip abroad. The response from my colleagues is amazing. The keyword is dynamic illumination carpet. The short definition of dynamic illumination carpet is an installation of many dots lamp above the grass of the garden and light up at night with dynamic effect. Since it contains many dots lamp so it will look like carpet located above the grass.
Just like mentioned on its cover, this book will tell us a lot about the science of lighting. A guide for people who want to know more and understand more about lighting. It will tell us about light and radiation, how is light produced, how is light directed and screened, about quantities of light and the unit, about light and vision, light with color, about light and health, about lighting quality. The way of this book tell us about the content is easy to follow and understand. Even though it tells a lot about the science (of course include with formulas, calculation, science terms, etc), the writers have done a great job to make the content easy to understand, even for people who just know or newly learn about lighting.

Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia. The city that never sleeps. The city that was now known as with the traffic jam. The city that develops and grow to become the megapolitan city. As other city identities, there are some iconic building or places that can be used to represent this city for paper cutting + painting artwork. For this experiment, I choose to use Monumen Nasional (Monas), Tugu Selamat Datang, Patung Pancoran and silhouette of the high-rise building.
Previously, I had created paper cutting +painting with The President theme. The first is Cupo-Gus Dur, or the formal name is Abdurrahman Wahid, he was the 4th President of Republic of Indonesia. The second is Cupo-Obama, as we know that he was the 44th President of United States of America.
Now, I made creation again with President theme. This time is not the president of a country but from a company. He was the President Director of Philips Lighting Indonesia. His name is Chandrasekhar Vaidyanathan. This project happened because the request of Professional Lighting Channel team that want to present a memorable gift at the farewell party of Pak Chandra on March 24, 2017. He will move from Indonesia to China as Regional Business Leader for Greater China and India. He was the Country Leader of Philips Lighting Indonesia from October 2013 until March 2017.
Deg-degan.
In this article, I will share the process of making Paper Cutting and Painting Cupo-Obama, based on the official portrait of Barrack Obama, who served as the 44th President of United States of America from 2009 to 2017. For the preliminary process, the portrait modified using Adobe Photoshop and Inkspace. I decided using 5 layers for the portrait itself and 2 layers for the background. It’s quite difficult to choose the color of the portrait because people will correlate or compare this vector portrait with the famous “Change” poster created by Shepard Fairey. Then my decision is using monochrome color, from black to white. Because it will create contrast when I put the monochrome portrait with a colorful background.
It all started with white papers. All layered that made with vector software transformed to A3 paper, 200 gsm thickness. Then one by one transformed into gray color gradations using water-based paint.
