The project of combining woman (portrait) with car rendering already planned a long time ago. Because I want to make the car as general interest, not only related to man. I want a girl or woman who has the history with her car, can happily show it. But the problem was, finding out who was the woman that I can draw and including her car in one frame. Then the moment is come, got the idea about whom should I draw.
Moment dalam bahasa sehari-hari bisa diartikan: kejadian pada suatu masa tertentu atau saat dimana kejadian tertentu itu terjadi. Kita sendiri biasanya juga akan melakukan sesuatu untuk mengingatkan atau merayakan suatu moment atau peristiwa. Salah satunya adalah moment ulang tahun. Dan meskipun waktu yang saya punya sangat terbatas untuk menyelesaikan karya ini, saya tidak ingin kehilangan moment penting tersebut. Moment ulang tahun Presiden RI ke 7, Bapak Joko Widodo, yaitu tanggal 21 Juni.
For some people, car ownership is a symbol. Not only for men, but also for women. A car is the symbol of their achievement and status. A car also reflection about what you are. But for some people, a car also part of their life story and in the end, it becomes of their life history. I will share behind the scene of the gift that I present to my best friend, Oki Firman Cahyono, who decide to pursue other interest and resign from the company. Philips Lighting Indonesia as a multinational company has the official batik shirt that represents the company with batik Indonesia pattern, with two color option, white and purple. As the employee, I am proudly wearing this batik shirt, especially when business trip abroad. The response from my colleagues is amazing. Most of them love the batik and ask how to have or buy that Philips batik shirt. But then, I ask myself, what is after batik shirt? And to be exact, how to describe Philips Lighting Indonesia in one image. The image that can be applied as identity, ornament or perhaps can be applied as the gift to our guest or customer. Read more
20 year is a special number, especially for a company anniversary. And it also happened to Philips Color Kinetics. Founded in Boston on 1997, Color Kinetics (or known as CK) focus only for controllable and programmable LED for architectural lighting. Then on 2007, Philips do an acquisition to Color Kinetics, then it becomes Philips Color Kinetics (sometimes we call it PCK).
The other car brand that I love is Lamborghini. This brand is consistent to create superb and spectacular car body design and set the high benchmark to other competitors. And if we follow the history of how this car was built, we will admire the spirit and passion of the founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini. Even though he and his team have no experience to build a sports car, but finally they can write the history with their golden ink. To share my admiration for Mr. Lamborghini passion, I made this artwork. This artwork is quite unique because I combine the paper cutting technique for the portrait with marker & pencil color rendering. From many cars of Lamborghini, I simply choose Lamborghini Miura that designed by Bertone. It has a simple and sexy design.
Michael Schumacher or sometimes known as Schumy, is one of the Formula One racing legends. His collaboration with Scuderia Ferrari has awarded him and Ferrari many titles. I will not talk a lot about him and his achievement, for sure you can find these things on other sources on the internet. I just would like to share my support and my wish that he will get well soon from his coma.
Kali ini, saya membuat dokumentasi yang spesial. Dari sisi tokoh yang dijadikan portrait, spesial bagi saya. Dari sisi objek kendaraan yang digunakan, juga spesial. Sepeda motor dengan kapasitas mesin jauh lebih kecil dibandingkan motor gede (baca: Harley-Davidson) dan rasanya tak lazim didokumentasikan, yaitu Yamaha L2Super. Sepeda motor era tahun 1980-an.
