Shiro Nakamura and Nissan GT-R (R35).

Shiro Nakamura has been Nissan’s Chief Creative Officer since 2006. He was the Chief Creative Officer of Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun. Behind his direction, there are many masterpieces and iconic cars created. He immediately exerted leadership in driving the design team to create distinctive and innovative designs based on Japanese traditional aesthetics and contemporary culture. Iconic cars, such as the Nissan Cube, Fairlady Z, GT-R, Murano, Qashqai, Juke, and LEAF, as well as Infiniti M, FX, and Essence, were created under Nakamura’s guidance.

One of his masterpieces that I admire most is the Nissan GT-R (R35). For me, this car is a perfect combination of masculinity and beauty. Compared to the other sports cars designed to have a slim body, lowering the nose and aerodynamic looks, this Nissan GT-R is designed with a muscled body, looking like a normal sedan but beautifully crafted with detail. There is the beast hidden under the bonnet and the performance of this car is really amazing and impressive. The GT-R is unique because it is not simply a copy of a European-designed sports car, but also really reflects Japanese culture.
